This calorie calculator helps you estimate the number of calories you burn per day, also known as Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE). Please follow the steps below to use this calculator:

  • Select your gender from the dropdown menu.
  • Input your weight in kilograms.
  • Input your height in centimeters.
  • Choose your activity level from the dropdown menu.
  • Click the “Calculate” button to view the results.

How It Calculates Results

The calculator first computes your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) using the following formulas:

  • For males: BMR = 88.362 + (13.397 * weight in kg) + (4.799 * height in cm) – (5.677 * age in years)
  • For females: BMR = 447.593 + (9.247 * weight in kg) + (3.098 * height in cm) – (4.330 * age in years)

Then, it multiplies your BMR by an activity factor based on your chosen activity level to get your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE):

  • Sedentary (little or no exercise): TDEE = BMR * 1.2
  • Lightly active (light exercise/sports 1-3 days/week): TDEE = BMR * 1.375
  • Moderately active (moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days/week): TDEE = BMR * 1.55
  • Active (hard exercise/sports 6-7 days a week): TDEE = BMR * 1.725
  • Very active (very hard exercise/sports & physical job): TDEE = BMR * 1.9
