The BMR is calculated as follows:

  • For men: BMR = 88.362 + (13.397 * weight[kg]) + (4.799 * height[cm]) – (5.677 * age[years])

Your total daily calorie needs are then estimated by multiplying your BMR by a factor corresponding to your activity level:

  • Sedentary: BMR * 1.2
  • Lightly active: BMR * 1.375
  • Moderately active: BMR * 1.55
  • Very active: BMR * 1.725
  • Super active: BMR * 1.9

Limitations

While the Kairos Calorie Calculator provides a good estimate of your daily caloric needs, it has some limitations:
