How it calculates the results:
The calculator uses the Metabolic Equivalent of Task (MET) to estimate calories burned:
- Cycling at a leisurely pace (< 16 km/h) has an estimated MET of 4.0
- Cycling at a moderate pace (16-19 km/h) has an estimated MET of 8.0
- Cycling at a fast pace (> 19 km/h) has an estimated MET of 12.0
The formula used is: Calories Burned = (MET * 3.5 * weight in kg) / 200 * duration in minutes.
