Calorie Calculator for Diabetes

This calorie calculator helps you estimate your daily calorie needs based on your age, gender, weight, height, and activity level. It’s designed to guide individuals with diabetes in managing their caloric intake.

How to Use:
  1. Enter your age in the “Age” field.

  4. Enter your height in centimeters in the “Height” field.
  5. Select your activity level from the “Activity Level” dropdown.
  6. Click the “Calculate” button to see your results.
How It Calculates:

The calculator uses the Harris-Benedict equation to estimate Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) and then multiplies that value by an activity multiplier to estimate Total Daily Caloric Needs.

Formula:

  • For Males: BMR = 88.362 + (13.397 x weight in kg) + (4.799 x height in cm) – (5.677 x age in years)
  • For Females: BMR = 447.593 + (9.247 x weight in kg) + (3.098 x height in cm) – (4.330 x age in years)

The result is then multiplied by the activity multiplier:

  • Sedentary: BMR x 1.2
  • Lightly Active: BMR x 1.375
  • Moderately Active: BMR x 1.55
  • Very Active: BMR x 1.725
  • Super Active: BMR x 1.9
Limitations:

This calculator provides only an estimate of your calorie needs. Individual energy requirements can vary based on medical conditions, metabolism, and other factors. Always consult with a healthcare provider for personalized advice.
