Use this tool to easily calculate the number of calories you need daily for a high protein diet.
How to Use the Calorie Calculator
This calculator helps you determine your daily caloric needs for a high protein diet. Follow these steps:
- Enter your age.
- Select your gender.
- Enter your current weight in kilograms.
- Enter your height in centimeters.
- Choose your activity level from the drop-down menu.
- Click the “Calculate” button to see your results.
How It Calculates
The calculator uses the Harris-Benedict equation to estimate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR), which represents the number of calories your body needs at rest. It then multiplies the BMR by your activity level to determine maintenance calories — the number of calories needed to maintain your current weight.
For a high protein diet, 30% of your total caloric intake should come from protein. The calculator converts this percentage into grams of protein, given that each gram of protein equals 4 kilocalories.
