This tool helps you easily calculate your daily calorie needs based on your personal information.
How to use the Calorie Calculator
To use the calorie calculator, enter your gender, age, weight, height, and select your activity level. Once all information is entered, click the “Calculate” button. The calculator will provide your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) and your estimated daily caloric needs based on your activity level.
Calculation Method
The calculator uses the Mifflin-St Jeor Equation to estimate Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR), which is an estimate of the number of calories you would burn per day if you were at rest. Then, this BMR is multiplied by an activity factor to estimate the total number of calories you need per day based on your level of physical activity.
For males: BMR = 88.362 + (13.397 x weight in kg) + (4.799 x height in cm) – (5.677 x age in years)
For females: BMR = 447.593 + (9.247 x weight in kg) + (3.098 x height in cm) – (4.330 x age in years)
Activity Levels and Multipliers
Sedentary: BMR x 1.2 (little or no exercise)
Lightly active: BMR x 1.375 (light exercise/sports 1-3 days/week)
Moderately active: BMR x 1.55 (moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days/week)
Active: BMR x 1.725 (hard exercise/sports 6-7 days a week)
Very active: BMR x 1.9 (very hard exercise/sports & a physical job)
Limitations
This calculator provides an estimate based on standard equations and should be used as a guideline. It does not take into account factors such as muscle mass, fat percentage, metabolic conditions, and other individual variations.
