Calorie Calculator

This calorie calculator helps you estimate the number of calories you need to consume per day to maintain your current weight. To use this calculator, enter your age, weight, height, select your gender, and choose your activity level. The calculator will then provide you with your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) and Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE).

How to use it:

  1. Enter your age in the “Age” field.
  2. Enter your weight in kilograms in the “Weight (kg)” field.
  3. Enter your height in centimeters in the “Height (cm)” field.
  4. Select your gender from the “Gender” dropdown menu.
  5. Choose your activity level from the “Activity Level” dropdown menu.
  6. Click the “Calculate” button.

How it calculates the results:

The Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) is calculated using the Mifflin-St Jeor Equation:

  • For males: BMR = 88.362 + (13.397 x weight) + (4.799 x height) – (5.677 x age)
  • For females: BMR = 447.593 + (9.247 x weight) + (3.098 x height) – (4.330 x age)

The Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) is then calculated by multiplying your BMR by an activity factor that corresponds to your selected activity level:

  • Sedentary (little or no exercise): BMR x 1.2
  • Lightly active (light exercise/sports 1-3 days/week): BMR x 1.375
  • Moderately active (moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days/week): BMR x 1.55
  • Active (hard exercise/sports 6-7 days/week): BMR x 1.725
  • Very active (very hard exercise/sports & physical job): BMR x 1.9
