How It Calculates the Results

The calculator uses the Harris-Benedict Equation to estimate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) and then multiplies it by your activity level to estimate your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE).

The formulas used are:

  • For men: BMR = 88.362 + (13.397 * weight) + (4.799 * height) – (5.677 * age)
  • For women: BMR = 447.593 + (9.247 * weight) + (3.098 * height) – (4.330 * age)

TDEE = BMR * Activity Level
