Calorie Calculator

This calculator estimates your daily caloric needs to maintain your current weight based on your age, gender, height, weight, and activity level.

How to Use:

1. Enter your age in years.
2. Select your gender.
3. Enter your height in centimeters.
4. Enter your weight in kilograms.
5. Choose your typical daily activity level.
6. Click the “Calculate” button to see your results.

How It Calculates:

This calculator uses the Harris-Benedict principle to estimate Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) and then multiplies it by an activity factor to gauge daily caloric needs:

  • BMR for males: 88.362 + (13.397 x weight) + (4.799 x height) – (5.677 x age)
  • BMR for females: 447.593 + (9.247 x weight) + (3.098 x height) – (4.330 x age)

The result is then multiplied by an activity factor based on your level of daily activities:

  • Sedentary (little or no exercise): BMR x 1.2
  • Lightly active (light exercise/sports 1-3 days/week): BMR x 1.375
  • Moderately active (moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days/week): BMR x 1.55
  • Active (hard exercise/sports 6-7 days a week): BMR x 1.725
  • Very active (very hard exercise/sports and a physical job): BMR x 1.9

Limitations:

Please note that the calorie calculator provides an estimate. Actual calorie needs may vary. Factors such as muscle mass, overall health, and specific dietary needs can influence your actual caloric requirements.
