How to Use the Calorie Calculator

To use this calorie calculator for cutting, you need to fill in the following parameters:

  • Weight (kg): Enter your weight in kilograms.
  • Height (cm): Enter your height in centimeters.
  • Age: Enter your age in years.
  • Gender: Select your gender.
  • Activity Level: Choose the level of your daily physical activity.

After filling in these parameters, click on the “Calculate” button to get the results.

How It Calculates the Results

The calculator uses the revised Harris-Benedict equation to estimate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR), which is the number of calories your body needs at rest. The BMR calculation differentiates between males and females:

  • Males: BMR = 10 * weight (kg) + 6.25 * height (cm) – 5 * age (years) + 5
  • Females: BMR = 10 * weight (kg) + 6.25 * height (cm) – 5 * age (years) – 161

The Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) is then estimated based on your activity level, using the formula:

  • TDEE = BMR * Activity Level

To get the suggested cutting calories, we subtract 500 kcal from the TDEE, which is a common starting point for creating a calorie deficit to promote weight loss.

Limitations

Please note that this calculator is intended for general informational purposes only. The results may not be accurate for everyone, as individual variations can affect actual calorie needs. Always consult with a healthcare provider or a registered dietitian for a personalized nutrition plan.
