How to Use the Calorie Calculator

Fill out the form with your personal information including age, gender, height, weight, and activity level. Then click the ‘Calculate’ button to get your estimated daily caloric needs.

How the Results Are Calculated

The calculator uses the Harris-Benedict Equation to estimate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) based on age, gender, height, and weight. The BMR is then multiplied by an activity factor to get your total daily caloric needs:

  • Sedentary: BMR x 1.2 (little or no exercise)
  • Lightly Active: BMR x 1.375 (light exercise/sports 1-3 days a week)
  • Moderately Active: BMR x 1.55 (moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days a week)
  • Very Active: BMR x 1.725 (hard exercise/sports 6-7 days a week)
  • Super Active: BMR x 1.9 (very hard exercise/sports & physical job)

Limitations

Please note that this calculator provides an estimate of your daily caloric needs and may not be 100% accurate for everyone. It does not account for certain factors such as muscle mass, overall health condition, or other specific metabolic factors. Always consult with a healthcare provider before making any significant changes to your diet or exercise routine.
