How to Use the Calorie Counter

To use this calorie counter, please follow these instructions:

  1. Enter your age in the provided input field.
  2. Select your gender from the drop-down menu.
  3. Enter your height in centimeters.
  4. Enter your weight in kilograms.
  5. Select your activity level from the provided options.
  6. Click the “Calculate” button to see your results.

How it Calculates the Results

This calorie counter uses the Mifflin-St Jeor Equation to calculate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR), and then multiplies your BMR by an activity factor based on your selected activity level to estimate your daily calorie needs.

  • BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate): The number of calories your body needs to perform basic life-sustaining functions.
  • Activity Level:
    • Sedentary (little or no exercise): BMR x 1.2
    • Lightly active (light exercise/sports 1-3 days/week): BMR x 1.375
    • Moderately active (moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days/week): BMR x 1.55
    • Very active (hard exercise/sports 6-7 days a week): BMR x 1.725
    • Extra active (very hard exercise/sports & a physical job): BMR x 1.9
