How It Calculates

The calculator uses the Mifflin-St Jeor equation to estimate your BMR:

  • For males: BMR = 88.362 + (13.397 × weight) + (4.799 × height) – (5.677 × age)
  • For females: BMR = 447.593 + (9.247 × weight) + (3.098 × height) – (4.330 × age)

Your daily calorie needs are then calculated by multiplying your BMR by your level of physical activity.
